The JV Boys swept the Battle of 707 this year by beating the Socastee Braves 41-35 Friday night. The first quarter was a back and forth battle that the Sharks won 10-8. Another competitive second quarter saw the Sharks take a 20-14 lead into the half. The Sharks regrouped during halftime and came out on fire in the third. They took a 32-18 lead into the fourth quarter. The Braves battled back and made the game close in the fourth. Luckily, the Sharks had a big enough lead headed into the fourth and was able to hang on for a 41-35 win against the Braves. The Sharks were once again led by a trio of sophomores. Joey Parisi had 15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Dillon Haire added 8 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Dylan Murphy scored 10 points, including hitting two huge 3 pointers. Justin Bailey and Ari Shkylar both had 3 points and Marcus Hawkins-Alston chipped in with 2 points. The JV Sharks move to 11-6 on the season and 6-3 in region play. They will end the season at Carolina Forest on Tuesday looking to avenge their worst loss of the season.
