The JV Boys Sharks took the floor against a new region opponent, the Conway Tigers. The Sharks were coming off a tough loss to a very good West Florence team last week. The Sharks jumped out early on the Tigers and never looked back. Everything was falling for the Sharks as they took an early 18-0 lead after the first quarter. The Sharks kept up the momentum in the second quarter and the shots continued to fall. The score at the end of the half was 31-5 in favor of the Sharks. Conway fought back in the second half to make the game closer. The two teams tied in the third quarter and the Tigers won the 4th quarter 16-9. However, the Sharks eventually won the game 50-31 for their first region win of the season. The Sharks were led by Dillon Haire with 23 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Ari Shklyar added 8 points, Jahdel White scored 7 points, Justin Bailey chipped in 6 points, Marcus Hawkins-Alston and Joseph Parisi both has 2 points, and Michael Cunia and Chandler Smithart both had 1 point apiece. The JV Boys Sharks will host rival Socastee on Friday in the Sharktank and look to move to 2-1 in region play.
