Game Recap

Your sharks participated in the Myrtle Beach Soccer Tournament this weekend. We played 4 quality teams but fell just short of entering the finals.

Friday was our first game were we played Seneca High School (8th in the state for 3 A). In a back and forth game, we won 4-0. Garrett Greene scored 3 goals in the match followed by Luke Williams with 1 goal. Raphael Carr, Chris Young and JD Vereen all had 1 assist apiece.

Saturday we played two games. The first went in our favor against a hard fighting Hanahan High School (ranked 14th in the state in 3 A). We won 4-2 with Luke Williams leading the way with 2 goals. Andrew Broome and Garrett Greene also had 1 goal apiece. Dalton Arseneau had 1 assist.

The second game of the day was against rivals Socastee High School. Socastee (ranked 9th in the state for 5 A) started off strong and never held back. Socastee capitalized on 3 key mistakes int he first half resulting in a 3-0 deficit. During the second half, Socastee did not allow any ounce of hope and continued to pour it on. The end result was a 6-0 defeat. As I tell the boys, good teams will put us away if we make the mistakes and that is exactly what they did.

Our fourth game of the tournament was against Oceanside Collegiate Academy, a new school out of Mount Pleasant. Our sharks rebounded from the previous loss and won 5-2, however, a lot of respect was given to Oceanside Collegiate Academy. They played well despite being a new team. Garrett Greene lead the team with 2 goals and 1 assist. Luke Williams had 1 goal and 1 assist. Dalton Arseneau and Addison Byrant both had 1 goal apiece. JD Vereen and Bryce Terhart both had 1 assist.

Overall our sharks are 14-2 in the season. We play Myrtle Beach Tuesday at Myrtle Beach. This game will decide the seeding in region play. Come out and support your sharks.
